VARSITY HEAD COACH

Coach Veasey is in his first campaign as head coach of Delano High School basketball. He previously served as Varsity Assistant for the Minneapolis Southwest girls' program for 4 successful years, during which they won 2 conference championships and recorded over 20 wins in 3 seasons—the program's most successful period. Before that, he spent five years as a head coach for the Minneapolis Lakers boys' program and served as its Youth Coaching Director, during which the program doubled in size to over 250 players. A West Point graduate, Coach Veasey coached the Army West Point JV Basketball team in 1993-1994 after two years as a Varsity manager. A Fairmont, WV, native, he has lived in Minnesota for 28 years and served in the Minnesota National Guard after Active Duty Army service.

VARSITY ASSISTANT

This will be Coach Griffin’s 7th year coaching in the Delano High School basketball program.  Prior to coaching basketball at Delano HS, Coach’s basketball journey included 3 years as a Varsity starter and 2 years playing JUCO basketball in Iowa.  Coach Griffin is also the Head Coach of the Boys Varsity Soccer Team, which qualified for the Minnesota State Tournament for the first time in school history in 2025.  A native of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Coach Griffin has two boys in the Delano public school system.

JUNIOR VARSITY HEAD COACH

Coach Wiens is in his first year coaching at Delano High School.  A multi-sport athlete at Maple Grove Senior High School, Coach Wiens played for the Michigan Tech club basketball team and coached the team in his senior year.  Coach Wiens is a teacher in the math department at Delano High School.
