SEASON KICK-OFF DINNER

 The Delano High School boys' basketball program has announced its inaugural fundraiser of the year, a season kick-off dinner scheduled for Sunday, November 9th. This spaghetti and salad dinner will be prepared and hosted by the players within the program.

The program is honored to feature Coach Jerry Litfin as the distinguished guest speaker. Mr. Litfin holds the record as the all-time winningest basketball coach at Delano High School. He is a celebrated coach and educator, renowned for his 25-year tenure as the head basketball coach and a teacher at Delano High School, during which he served as a transformative leader for both his players and students. As head coach, he successfully guided the Tigers to over 400 career wins, ranking him among Minnesota's top high school coaches and earning recognition for his mentorship and dedication to youth development. Mr. Litfin dedicated 41 years to teaching at Delano, coached baseball for 20 years, and coached girls' softball for 10 years. Furthermore, he officiated high school football for 30 years.

Mr. Litfin, a member of the Minnesota Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame, currently resides in Waverly with his wife.

Captain Marshall Thorstad will serve as the master of ceremonies for the evening, while every senior on the team will undertake essential roles to ensure a positive experience for attending families and community members.

Members of the basketball community and the broader community are encouraged to attend. The event will take place on November 9th from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Light of Christ Lutheran Church.
